60 Hours | Understanding what you are teaching Oct 2nd - Nov 1st
This module establishes the foundation beneath the physical practice. Students explore where yoga comes from, how its philosophies have evolved, and how those teachings translate into the modern classroom.
Core curriculum: history and evolution of yoga; the Eight Limbs; koshas; foundational philosophy and texts; meditation, pranayama and mindfulness; exploration of several yoga styles and lineages; influential modern teachers and how they shaped contemporary yoga; developing presence as both practitioner and teacher.
Students will experience different styles of practice rather than simply studying them, beginning to identify what resonates with them—and eventually, what they want their own teaching to stand for.
